About the Book

Project: Kuhlman Variable is a type specimen book created about the variable font created by David Jonathon Ross. Inspired by Roy Kuhlman’s design, this book explores the history, inspiration, and impact of this style of hand-cut lettering.

Challenge: To form a connection with the reader through visually engaging content and informational tools.

Strategy: Use an abstract exploration of type and its special characters to mimic an analog approach.
